Conditions (Shuroot) for the Prayer
A condition is something that is required before the commencement of prayer in order for it to be valid.
The conditions for the prayer are nine:
(1) Islaam(2) Sanity
(3) Reaching the age of Maturity
(4) Lack of Ritual Impurity (i.e. Ablution)
(5) Removal of Filth
(6) Covering the ‘Awrah
(7) The Entrance of the Proper Time
(8) Facing the Qiblah
(9) The Intention
Pillars (Arkaan) of Prayer

The Pillars of Prayer are 14:
1- Standing, if able
2- Opening Takbir
3- Recitation of Surat al-Fatihah
4- Ruku` (Bowing)
5- Standing from bowing position
6- Prostrating on seven bones
7- Rising from sujud
8- The sitting between the two sajdas
9- Tranquility in all the pillars of the salat
10-The proper order of the pillars of the salat
11- The final tashahud
12- The sitting of the final tashahud
13- Sending salam upon the Prophet, salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam
14- The final two Taslims

The Wajibaat (obligatory) matters are similar to the Arkaan (pillars) in that they cannot be left off on purpose. However, the wajibaat are different in that if left off unintentionally (out of forgetfulness), Sujood as Sahuw at the end make up for it; whereas the neglected arkaan (pillars) must be repeated even if unintentionally left off. Requirements (Wajibaat) of Prayer
"The requirements (waajibaat) are that which if one fails to perform any of them intentionally, his prayer is rendered invalid due to his abandoning it, but if he leaves any of them due to forgetfulness, he is obligated to perform the (extra) prostrations for forgetfulness.

The requirements of prayer are 8:
1- All the takbirs besides opening takbir
2- Saying "Subhana Rabbi al-'Adheem" in ruku'
3- To say after standing from ruku', "Sami' Allaahu liman Hamidah"
4- To say "Rabbana wa lakal Hamd"
5- The statement "Subhana Rabbi al-A'la" in prostration
6- The statement between the two sajdas: "Rabb ighfirli, Rabb ighfirli"
7-The first tashahud
8- Sitting for the first tashahud
