The Virtues of Surah Qaf - audio, 24 min

".... the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to recite this Sūrah during large gatherings such as the ʿĪds and during Friday sermons. He did so because this Sūrah contains news of the beginning of creation, resurrection, the Return, Standing (before Allāh), the Reckoning, Paradise, the Fire, Allāh's reward and punishment, lessons of encouragement, and lessons of discouragement. Allāh knows best. [End Quote]1

In this short, yet succinct reminder, our noble brother goes through the English translation of this Sūrah along with its explanation; recounting the wonder of the disbelievers at the Message sent by Allāh and at the prospect of being resurrected, as well as Allāh's power and ability over what is greater than the Resurrection. This chapter of the Qurʾān also gives a reminder to the Quraysh about the destruction of previous nations due to their disobedience and disbelief, as well as a reminder to mankind about the stupor of death and the blowing of the trumpet on the Day of Judgement."

"The Prophet Salallaahu’alayhiWasalam would recite Surah Qāf to the Companions so often, that it is reported that some of them memorised it due to its repetition. Abu Fudhayl follows this Sunnah of the Prophet Salallaahu’alayhiWasalam whilst adding english translation for the benefit of the listener. A beautiful reminder, a “must listen”, may Allaah reward Abu Fudhayl with abundant good."
